I'm excited to share that Formula Bot has a new name: Better Analyst.
Formula Bot started as a way to work faster in Excel. Since then, it has grown into much more.
I've spent the last 15 years working in data analytics. Anyone who has done this work knows the job description rarely matches the actual job. Most of your time goes to cleaning and preparing data, building dashboards, setting up automated workflows, and making presentations. Analyzing the data comes last.
That's why we rebuilt the product. We used to call ourselves an "AI data analyst." Now we think of Better Analyst as an AI data analytics team.
You can now connect or upload your data, clean it up, enrich it, ask questions about it, build dashboards, reports and presentations, and automate your data work, all in one place.
New capabilties within Better Analyst: - Scheduled Dashboards: Connect your data, then describe the dashboard you want or pick a template. We'll email you the refreshed dashboard on your schedule.
- Data Flows: Pull, transform and send data from one place to another with a single prompt. For example, combine your Google Analytics and Google Search Console data and send it to a Google Sheet every day.
- Custom Agents & Brand Kits: Save your instructions, business context, output preferences and reference files to reuse anytime. Keep colors, fonts, chart styles and number formats consistent in everything you create.
- Presentations: Turn your analysis into a polished presentation. Describe what you need, and AI builds the slides. Export to PowerPoint or Google Slides.
- Data Context: Help AI understand your SQL data. Review and publish what your tables, fields, relationships and metrics mean, so analysis starts from definitions you trust.
Nothing changes for you: - Same account. You don't need a new account. Sign in the way you always have. The app has a new address (app.betteranalyst.com), so your browser may ask you to sign in once.
- Same work. Your files, conversations, dashboards and workflows are all still there. Nothing needs to be moved.
- Old links still work. Formula Bot links and bookmarks will take you to the matching page on Better Analyst.
- Same security. Your data and security controls haven't changed.
Better Analyst comes from three things: my 15 years in analytics, our team using the product every day, and talking with customers every day. There's a lot more coming. If there's something you wish Better Analyst could do, just reply to this email. I read every response.
