Democratic state Rep. Fred Crespo of Hoffman Estates cited an out-of-town family issue as the reason for canceling his attendance at a Saturday candidate forum with Republican challenger Ralph Black of Hanover Park for the 44th District state House seat at the Schaumburg Township District Library in Schaumburg.
