An analysis and comparison of preservation work done on two copies of Common Sense (1776) by Thomas Paine. One received preservation as part of the Library’s early collection and the second arrived preserved as part of a private collection. In the first part of a four part series, we look at how the Library of Congress cares for items tied to our rich history as we celebrate America 250.
