Author Claudia Hammond wrote the book on being overwhelmed (literally). The author of
Overwhelmed: Ways to Take the Pressure Off,
examines the scientific research on stress, overload and all the ways people sabotage their time. Hammond spoke with the Globe about some of our misconceptions about time (for instance, did you know that we’re not necessary “busier” than people were in the 1930s, 40s and 50s, but we simply have more spare time that we want to fill?) and how we might fight back against the idea of perfectionism, among other things.
