Annual Giving: TWO DAYS LEFT!
First, THANK YOU.
To every family who has already donated to Annual Giving this year: thank you for showing up for KG. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community and for every family who has helped get us this far.
But we’re not quite at the finish line yet.
Annual Giving ends THIS FRIDAY, September 25, and we have just TWO DAYS LEFT to reach our $48,000 goal!
Annual Giving is KG PTA’s biggest fundraiser of the year. No galas. No auctions. No wrapping paper. No selling. Just one direct donation that goes right back into supporting KG.
Your donations make it possible for the PTA to support our students and teachers throughout the entire school year — including:

Classroom resources and direct funding for KG teachers

Assemblies and student programs

After-school clubs

Literacy and STEAM events

Library books and resources

Teacher appreciation and support

Community events

School improvements and special projects
Annual Giving also helps make larger improvements possible. This year, the PTA is investing in a new outdoor shade structure for the KG playground — an improvement that will give students a much-needed place to cool off and get out of the sun on hot days.
If you’ve been meaning to donate, this is the week to do it.
Every gift matters. Every donation moves us closer to our goal and helps support KG students this year.

The Grade-Level Challenge Ends Friday!
TWO DAYS LEFT — and several grades are incredibly close to their next reward!
Here’s what it would take right now:
Kindergarten: Just 3 more families → Popsicle Party!
1st Grade: Extra Recess UNLOCKED today! 10 more families → Popsicle Party!
2nd Grade: Just 9 more families → Popsicle Party!
3rd Grade: Extra Recess UNLOCKED today! 11 more families → Popsicle Party!
4th Grade: Just 10 more families → Popsicle Party!
5th Grade: Just 8 more families → Extra Recess!
6th Grade: Just 9 more families → Extra Recess!
And remember: the grade with the highest participation wins Kona Ice!
At this point, every single family can move the numbers. If you’ve been meaning to participate, your donation could literally be the one that helps your child’s grade unlock its next reward.

- Science Olympiad: Space is limited and registration is open now for Grades 3-4 and Grades 5-6.

KG Movie Night is on Friday!
Join us Friday, September 25 for The Super Mario Bros. Movie on the KG lawn!
The lawn opens at 6:30 p.m. and the movie begins at 7 p.m.
Admission is FREE, but tickets are required.
Want pizza for dinner during the movie? Whole pizzas are available by pre-order only — and the deadline to order is 9 p.m. TONIGHT!

- Food Bus: Have 30 minutes to spare on a Friday afternoon? Help deliver rescued food from KG to the SHARE of McLean Food Pantry. Sign up for a Friday delivery here.

- Picture Day Volunteers: Help with student flow and organization during Picture Day. Volunteers will receive a school picture discount code as a thank-you! Sign up to help here.

Community Submissions:
- McLean Dance Team Clinic: Join the McLean High School Dance Team on October 12 for a day of dancing, games, and fun! Open to ages 6–13, with an optional halftime performance at the October 23 football game. Register here.
- Redeemer Renaissance Preschool & After-School Programs: Registration is open for the 2026–27 school year for children ages 1.5–5. Redeemer Renaissance also offers after-school programming for elementary students, including sports, STEAM, music, science, French, art, tutoring, and more.
