We want to let you know about a temporary road disruption (2 lanes to 1 lane) on our campus and how it may affect your visit.
What's Happening
A portion of Liberty Loop, located in front of the hospital near the Patriot Parking Garage, will be temporarily disrupted making it a 1 lane road for about 3 weeks. This closure is necessary so crews can install infrastructure for our new parking garage project, which will add 1,000 new parking spaces to our campus once complete. This project is designed to make parking easier and improve access to care at the Dallas VA Medical Center.
What This Means for You
Because of this construction, traffic patterns near the front of the hospital and the Patriot Garage will be different than usual. Please allow extra time when arriving for appointments during this period.
Recommended Entrance
To help reduce traffic and delays, we encourage all Veterans and visitors to enter the campus using the entrance off Ann Arbor Rd. during this time.
Alternate Parking Options
Lot 1 is currently under construction for the new patient parking garage. In the meantime, additional parking is available at:
- Patriot Garage (Patient/Visitor parking)
- Liberty Garage (rear of facility)
- Freedom Garage (rear of facility)
Shuttle Service
We offer a robust shuttle system to help you get from parking to the hospital with ease.
Shuttles run daily from approximately 5:30 AM to 6:30 PM and service all major parking areas, including the Patriot, Liberty, and Freedom Garages, as well as nearby parking lots. Look for shuttle stops and signage in each parking area, or ask a staff member for directions to the nearest shuttle stop.
We appreciate your patience as we complete this important project to improve parking and access to care.

Join us in person for the Community Listening Session hosted by VA North Texas & Tarrant County Public Health from 12pm – 2pm, Friday September 25th at the Fort Worth VA Clinic, located at 2201 SE Loop 820 Fort Worth, Tx 76119..
This session is designed to gather feedback from Veterans who receive their care in the community and family members who are Tarrant County residents, community members, stakeholders, service providers, and students about the health concerns that matter most.
All sessions are free and open to Veterans, Family Members, Veteran Community Partners, VA Staff, and Caregivers of Veterans.
The session will be held at the Fort Worth VA clinic on the 2nd floor in the Biro Conference Room.
