Join us for our first PTSA General Meeting of the school year! We need our membership to turn out as we share important updates and conduct key business, including the formal presentation and approval of the 2026–27 PTSA budget.
We’ll also hear updates on membership, programming, communications, and more and as well as an opportunity for questions.
A quorum of 10 members is required to conduct business, so please join us! We look forward to seeing you September 24.

Volunteer Opportunity: PTSA Grant Writer
McLean HS PTSA is seeking a volunteer Grant Writer to help identify and pursue grants that support our students, families, and school community.
Responsibilities include:
- Research grant opportunities and deadlines
- Identify grants aligned with PTSA priorities
- Help prepare and submit applications
- Work with PTSA leaders to develop proposals
- Track applications and outcomes
Interested? No professional grant-writing experience is required. We welcome anyone with an interest or experience in grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit work, research, or proposal writing.

McLean Matters Toiletries Drive
McLean High School has approximately 300 students who are at or below the poverty level. For many of these students, lack of toiletries poses a serious barrier to their comfort and learning while at school. This is particularly true for girls who lack regular access to feminine hygiene products.
This year, the PTSA McLean Matters Committee will be hosting a Fall Toiletries drive to help support our students in need!
Please purchase items from this Amazon wish list by September 25th for delivery directly to the volunteer organizing this drive. She will be taking the toiletries collected to MHS, where they will be available for students during the school day at McPantry and for their families' pick-up during McPantry's fall food Pop-up in October.
Please do NOT take donations to the school, the front office has requested they be routed directly to our volunteer, so we can bring them in all at once.

Multicultural Family Engagement Committee Launch
McLean HS PTSA is excited to launch our new Multicultural Family Engagement Committee (MFEC)! The committee connects families across our Spanish, Indian, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese communities, helping bridge language and cultural gaps so that every family feels informed, valued, and at home in the MHS community.

MHS PTSA Reflections – Call for Entries!
McLean High School PTSA is excited to bring the National PTA Reflections Program to MHS for the 2026–27 school year!
This year’s theme is “What My Culture Means to Me.” Students are invited to express their creativity and share what culture means to them through Visual Arts, Photography, or Literature. Selected entries will have the opportunity to advance to the Fairfax County, Virginia, and National PTA levels
Students who identify as having a disability and who have an FCPS IEP or 504 may choose to participate in the Accessible Arts Division.

2026 White House Ornaments Fundraiser

The McLean High School PTSA is offering the Official 2026 White House Ornaments as a fundraiser. This year, the Official White House Christmas Ornament honors America's 250th milestone. The front features the Declaration of Independence text elegantly framed with 24-karat gold for luminous sophistication. The backside reveals an intricately etched White House, attended by both the historic and modern American flags in stately procession. Each ornament includes an illustrated keepsake gift box with a gold embossed informational card. Perfect gift for your family, friends, staff, and clients!
Plus, your purchase supports the Graduation Party for the Class of 2027.
Price: $28. Ornaments can be ordered HERE until December 5, 2026. After your purchase, you will be able to pick up the ornament from the school during the Holiday Bazaar on December 12 from 10a to 3p.
