Reminder: Security screening will be in effect for the game on Friday, and only clear bags (maximum size 12" x 12" x 6") are allowed at ALL Varsity Football games under the new FCPS bag policy.

Seeking more 9th and 10th grade Student Liaisons
We would love to have a few more 9th and 10th graders to round out our PTSA Student Liaisons. Student Liaisons provide a voice for student concerns, needs, and suggestions to the PTSA and school administration. The main responsibility for this role is to be an active participant at PTSA meetings and share your opinions when asked. We encourage Liaisons to participate in PTSA programs and activities, and even develop ideas for new programs or ideas for the school community as a team. Jaguar Pantry News
We started our weekend pack distributions for students last week!
Thank you to all who donated food to the FFN Red Bag program - we packaged that food up and sent it home with students. We will continue this every Friday throughout the school year.

September is National Hunger Action Month - And the Jaguar Pantry Needs Your Support!
We are asking you to take action against hunger this month and consider supporting our Jaguar Pantry in any of the following ways:
Make a financial donation which allows us to provide food for weekend packs, snacks for counselors, and food for family bags (Jag Pantry donations)
- Become a Food for Neighbors Red Bag Donor to donate easily throughout the school year (https://www.foodforneighbors.org/red-bag-program/)
- Drop-off or have any donation delivered to the front office of FCHS (just label with "PTSA Jaguar Pantry")
- Purchase directly from our Amazon wish-list and deliver straight to the school (Amazon Wishlist)
- Organize a food and toiletry drive through your community, church, clubs and/or service organizations
- Volunteer for our open volunteer shifts, packing student weekend food bags and/or transporting bins to/from FCHS and CityLight Church (FCHS Jag Pantry Volunteer Sign-up)

FCHS College & Career Corner
We are excited to announce the first annual FCHS College Fair on Monday, October 5 8:45-10:00am in the Main Gym. We will host 65 colleges/universities for junior and senior students!
We will also be hosting individual college rep visits:
- 9/25- UVA 11:00am
- 9/29- GMU 9:45 am
- 9/30- VCU 1:30pm
- 10/2- William & Mary 10:15am
- 10/13- Northwestern 1:30pm
- 10/15- JMU 8:30am
- 10/21- University of the District of Columbia 9:00am
*Students must register no later than two days (48 hours) prior to the college fair and/or individual college rep visits.
**Only juniors/seniors may attend the college fair and/or college rep visits.
FCPS College Fair and Postsecondary Virtual Night
The annual FCPS College Fair will be held Sunday, October 18, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the George Mason University Eagle Bank Arena. Approximately 200 colleges and universities will be represented, including two- and four-year schools and U.S. Service Academies.
The virtual postsecondary night event will be held on Monday, October 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. Both events will help students prepare for the next chapter of their educational journey. Learn more about the College Fair and Postsecondary virtual night.
Parents are encouraged to sign up for Ms. Markwart's weekly College & Career Corner newsletter. It contains information on important dates, scholarships, volunteer, internship, and networking opportunities. The newsletter is sent via NAVIANCE and parents will need a SIS ParentVUE account in order to receive the newsletter.
