Don’t ask Mack Hollins if his belief in Drake Maye has been shaken two weeks into the season.
“My faith in Drake ain’t changed,” Hollins said before Wednesday’s Patriots practice. “He’s a gunslinger. He throws the rock … Drake’s good with me.”
The wide receiver’s assessment aside, the gunslinger has misfired a few times through the first two weeks. Maye, who threw eight interceptions during the 2025 regular season, has four picks through the two games this season. It’s the first time in his professional career he’s had four interceptions in a two-game span.
In addition, through two games he’s engineered just two touchdown drives. And he’s had a 54.9 passer rating (against the Seahawks) and a 75.6 rating (against the Steelers), marking the first time since his rookie year he’s had back-to-back games where he hasn’t broken 80.
