A Message from the PTA President
Dear Hunt Valley Families,
We had an amazing week of Book Fair fun last week! Thanks so much to the volunteers who have taken their time to help the classes choose and purchase their favorite selections. Big events like this cannot take place without your volunteer help. And a special thanks to our Book Fair Chairs, Kyeong Tero and Dusti Ward, for their herculean efforts to bring our fair to life!
A slight drop of temperatures has heralded the start of Fall and your PTA team is moving full-steam into Fall planning mode. We have some really wonderful upcoming events that we hope your family can attend and enjoy. Friday, of next week, will be the Fall Carnival! (See the flyer below for details, RSVP link and sign ups.) Friday, October 30th will bring the annual Trunk or Treat. And, Family Game Night will round out the Fall event season, on Friday, November 6th. Looking to get involved? A planning committee is forming for Family Game Night and we would love to have you be a part of it! Shoot me an email and we can find a way, big or small, for you to be involved.

Reflections Art Contest
Hunt Valley families — it’s time to create!
This year’s PTA Reflections theme is “What My Culture Means to Me,” and students can enter in all six arts categories.
Whether your child loves to write, draw, dance, make music, take photos, or create films, this is a wonderful chance to share their voice and creativity.

Please keep in mind, your student can have only one entry in each category. When filling out the Entry Form, you may leave the “Local PTA Information” section blank. We will fill that in! Questions about Hunt Valley’s contest can be directed to reflections@huntvalleypta.org. Our Reflections Coordinator, Silke Douglass, is looking for other parents and guardians who are passionate about the arts to join her on the Reflections Committee. Please email with questions or to express interest!

Pyramid Challenge - Save the Date!
Help us by representing Hunt Valley Elementary School during November’s West Springfield Pyramid Challenge! This free fun run at Irving Middle School allows our Hawks to come together with our neighboring elementary school friends for a fun morning of school spirit and camaraderie.

The path to WSHS athletics starts right here! The Spartan Booster Club is building Turf Field #2 to ensure our future Spartans have safe, top-tier facilities waiting for them. Backed by $250,000 from the NFL Foundation and Washington Commanders (read the announcement on Yahoo Sports), we are rallying the community for the Spartan Surge $30 Challenge.
