Dear readers,
A few months ago, we invited you all to join us as we tackled our second annual Summer Reading Bucket List. Thousands of you jumped in — dipping a toe in genres you don’t normally explore, cracking open some of our Best Books of the 21st Century, leaning into the season with summery reads and doing your homework on some of the biggest upcoming literary adaptations before they hit your screens.
It’s been such a joy to hear from you all about the books and writers you discovered along the way — and to venture into previously untouched literary territory ourselves. Now that summer has officially ended, we’re looking back at some of the things we read to check off our own bucket lists. (The audacious and deeply moving “Lincoln in the Bardo,” by George Saunders, was a standout on mine.)
