Speed Kolossos oversized derailleur cage
The Speed Kolossos comes two ways
Our all-day racing oversized derailleur cage, shaped after the Aero Kolossos and running a larger 20-tooth lower pulley.
Both versions are built on the same Speed Kolossos cage. The difference is the bearing inside the pulley wheels: Standard Ceramic, or Pulsar Ceramic, our full ceramic bearing.

Bearing type
Standard Ceramic or Pulsar Ceramic
On any Speed Kolossos product page, switch Bearing Type to Pulsar Ceramic. Pulsar is offered for Shimano Dura-Ace R9200, Ultegra R8100 and SRAM Red & Force AXS.

Why Pulsar
The test rig said zero watts
When the Pulsar prototype went on our friction test rig, the standard sensors read zero watts of friction loss. They were not sensitive enough to measure the bearings, so we had to get a higher-precision sensor to put a number on the board.
In a standard bearing most of the drag comes from the lubricant and the seals. Pulsar bearings run with no lubricant, and a 30 second free spin on the lower pulley wheel is standard.

How to spot one
Check the lower chain guard
Every Pulsar has the Pulsar icon etched into the lower chain guard, next to the Kogel logo. It is subtle enough to keep the bike looking clean, and the gearheads in your group ride will know what they are looking at.
