It is time to rally!
This edition of INSIGHT comes at an exciting
moment for IAPB, as we continue to build momentum towards World Sight Day and the Global Summit for Eye Health.
We invite you to be a part of World Sight Day
through the Love Your Eyes campaign. Love Your Eyes is a
megaphone for eye health, and our collective efforts have governments
and decision-makers listening like never before - recognising that
accessible, available and affordable eye care is critical to unlocking
education opportunities and economic potential.
We challenge you to be at the forefront of
the movement, to share your story, champion eye health for all, and to
join the millions of others worldwide who believe in the value of
vision.

Counting down to World Sight Day!
World
Sight Day (8 October) is the biggest opportunity to draw the world's attention to eye
health. It takes each individual's effort to put eye health in the
global spotlight, but the result is millions of voices calling for
better, more accessible eye health. That is too powerful to ignore.
#LoveYourEyes for #WorldSightDay, and be part of the global
movement towards a more equitable future for all.

New Resource: Self-Portrait
Project
Every Story Counts has launched the Self-Portrait
Project, a free printable activity inviting children to draw
themselves and complete the prompts: "I love my eyes
because..." and "When I grow up, I want to be a(n)...".
Each submission becomes part of a global collection showcasing
children's voices and the importance of eye health.
Perfect for schools, screenings, outreach programmes, clinics and
home activities, the project runs all year, with submissions featured
on World Sight Day (8 October).
How you can help: Share the template with schools,
families and communities, and encourage children to submit their
drawings via the QR code within the template.

The Road to Antigua
On 2 November, Heads of State, health ministers, and senior
representatives from across the eye health sector will gather in St.
John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, for the first Global Summit for Eye
Health.
It is an invitation-only political gathering with the
specific purpose of securing commitments from governments and
institutions on financing, policy, and national roadmaps to expand
access to quality eye care. Those commitments are due no later than World Sight Day, 8 October, leaving a five-week
window between the two important dates to build even more
momentum.

The 78% We Can't Afford to Ignore
Few interventions in global
development pay off as reliably as a pair of glasses. Correcting a
child’s vision early can boost their lifetime earnings by up to 78%,
making it one of the most cost-effective investments in a child’s
future.
That is why Love Your Eyes belongs
in the same conversation as school meal programmes and vaccination
drives: not because it is heartwarming, but because it
works.
Read how a simple eye test and glasses could help
double a child's lifetime earnings.
