Hey a,

The other week during a one-to-one coaching session with an Italian student of mine, he picked up on something really interesting about the way I speak.

"Emma, why do you sometimes not pronounce the H?"

I was confused at first, so I asked "What do you mean?"

He said:

"Well you just said 'I went with im to the airport', but my teacher in school told me to always say 'him' and not to remove the H because it sounds too Italian"

As a pronunciation coach, I always find it so interesting (and saddening) when students tell me their previous teachers taught them something that turns out to be completely UNTRUE.

My student inspired me to create this lesson dedicated to the /h/ sound because I know that he isn't the only one that finds this interesting.

a, after watching this lesson, I guaratee that you'll learn:

  • tricks that native speakers use when they speak quickly
  • how to speak faster without getting tongue-tied
  • how to sound more fluent
  • and how to speak English with the correct pronunciation

Enjoy your weekend!

Speak soon,
Emma
