Hadi Matar, the man charged with stabbing author Salman Rushdie in 2022, has been found guilty of attempted murder after an eight-day trial.

Matar, 27, was on trial in western New York for rushing onto the stage and stabbing the 77-year-old author more than a dozen times in the neck, stomach, chest, hand and right eye, leaving him partially blind.
