From soup cans and veggies to beers and soda — the price of these products could increase because of their packaging. President Trump announced his plan to impose a 25% tariff on all imported steel and aluminum, with the aim of supporting American producers by reducing foreign competition. However, food and beverage industry experts warn that this move could lead to higher steel and aluminum cans costs, which would impact consumers. The Brewers Association, representing thousands of small and independent brewers, has stated that these tariffs could also raise costs for essential equipment such as fermenters, steel tanks, brewhouses and various building materials.
A well-known statistic is that men don’t live as long as women. For American men, life expectancy is almost 76. For women, it is 81. Researchers are calling for more studies on why this is, specifically on how stress, the economy and attitudes toward medicine influence men's well-being and longevity. Derek Griffith, a professor of health equity and population health at the University of Pennsylvania, says he is alarmed that the longevity gap between U.S. men and women has widened in the last couple of decades.
