Coming Soon: Construction for Transitway Extension to Start on 12th St. S.

On April 4, parking meters within the work zone for the Transitway Extension to Pentagon City will be removed, and then on the week of April 7, crews will install fencing to close off the work zone.

The work zone is on 12th Street South between South Fern Street and South Eads Street. The closure will be in place for about a year, through roughly mid 2026.

What Can I Expect During Construction?

During construction, 12th Street South between South Fern Street and South Eads Street will be closed to vehicles, but sidewalk and garage access to businesses and residences will remain open.
