Metro Better Bus Network Redesign is Coming
Starting on June 29, WMATA will be implementing their Better Bus Network Redesign to consolidate bus stops and rename bus routes throughout the region.
Here's what you can expect:
WMATA has replaced route identifier flags at bus stops to help introduce the new routes, but you can learn the changes ahead of time by looking at WMATA's Better Bus resources.
- All Metrobus routes will go by new names (see the Virginia list)
- Some - but not all - bus stops that only serve Metrobus will be consolidated or removed (see Consolidation Summary)
- Some routes will serve new destinations:
- For example: Metrobus 38B Ballston-Farragut Square will extend as Metrobus A58 Wilson-Farragut Square, and will stop at Ballston Metro and continue to reach the Seven Corners Transit Center Learn more about the redesign and find maps and resources online at WMATA.com/betterbus.

Categories are: Lifetime of Service, Distinguished County Service, Distinguished Corporate Service, Racial Equity Civic Engagement, Family or Group Volunteer Service, and Youth Volunteer Service. Nominations for the 2025 awards are due Wed., Apr. 30, at 5 p.m. Awards will be presented at Volunteer Arlington's annual Arlington Cares event, on July 1.

Public Health Nurses provide services as part of the School Health Bureau and will provide school health services in one or more school clinics while traveling within Arlington to schools, public health clinics, other Department of Human Services Units, and to community buildings to facilitate services or to participate in meetings or task forces.

DHS is seeking a Full-Time Clinic Aide to assist with providing services for the Behavioral Healthcare Division (BHD). This Clinic Aide will be responsible for assisting professional medical staff with providing services to clients by performing a variety of health/nutrition screening routines, conducting basic clinical routines, and administrative duties. The individual will participate on an interdisciplinary outpatient treatment team focused on serving individuals with behavioral health and co-occurring medical disorders.

April 26: Youth Mental Health Skills
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health challenges and substance use among adolescents ages 12-18.
