The best online flower delivery service

Anyone’s who ever tried (or failed) to send fresh flowers to someone’s doorstep knows that consistency and reliability are of utmost importance when delivering blooms. While we’d still recommend a local florist, an online delivery service can be a useful and convenient option. To find the best ones, our experts went through a fresh slate of testing on the biggest flower holiday of the year: Valentine’s Day.

We sent several bouquets to three new locations across the country to be delivered on February 14, and we awaited panelist feedback. After that stress testing, we’re confident our recommendations are the best bets for delighting your giftee — perhaps the mother in your life?

Alternatively, for some equally charming, but much longer-lasting blooms, consider a paper flower delivery service. The one we like hand-cuts, paints, and shapes Italian crepe paper into remarkably realistic petals and leaves, from gorgeous carnations to big bunches of peonies. When supervising editor Hannah Morrill sent an arrangement to a colleague, they were wowed — and said it was their favorite, even over the fresh flowers they received.
