Park residents still in limbo: The City of Albany Council has deferred a decision on granting a new lease to the RAC for the area where the Rose Gardens Beachside Holiday Park is located. The RAC has signed an agreement
with operator Redwood Corporate to buy the park on the condition of vacant possession. The council says it received 19 submissions during public consultation on disposal of the current lease and issuing a new one to the buyer. It says many submissions from long-stay tenants cited concerns about the cost and difficulties of relocation. Councillor Robert Sutton raised concerns about the impacts on vulnerable residents Tuesday night's council meeting, and his motion to defer the item to May 27 was carried.
