The Gulf Council Announces Name Change

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council announces that it will begin doing business as the "Gulf Council", aligning with the President’s Executive Order officially renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

This strategic rebranding effort reflects the Council’s commitment to maintaining consistency with federal nomenclature and ensuring clarity across all public communications and regulatory documentation.

As part of this transition, the Gulf Council unveils:

  • A new logo that embodies its mission and evolving identity,
  • A fully redesigned website optimized for user experience and accessibility,
  • All current and future communications, outreach materials, and regulatory documents will be updated to reflect the name change.

The Gulf Council encourages stakeholders, partners, and the public to visit its updated website at www.GulfCouncil.org. The Gulf Council also kindly asks all partners to update our logo across their materials, where appropriate.
