Calling All Small Business Owners, This Webinar is For You!
May 8, 2025, 12 pm - 1:00 pm ET
Virtual via Zoom
In honor of National Small Business Week (May 4 - 10, 2025), the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) are joining together to bring you valuable federal guidance and insight as you navigate growing your small business.
The EEOC is responsible for enforcing federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of the person's race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information. The EEOC works to prevent discrimination before it occurs through outreach, education and technical assistance programs.
Created in 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) works to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation. The SBA helps small business owners and entrepreneurs pursue the American dream and is the nation’s only go-to resource and voice for small businesses.
Subject matter experts, Teri M. Peters (EEOC, Birmingham District) and LaToya Allen (EEOC, Miami District) will provide a snapshot of EEOC laws. You will also learn about resources available to assist you in navigating your business, avoiding EEO pitfalls and how to stay compliant. Subject matter expert SBA Senior Area Manager, Ed Ramos, will provide the latest information and resources on how SBA helps small businesses launch, grow and recover.
