Ambient Photonics is rolling out dye-sensitized solar cells that harvest indoor light to power low-energy electronics like keyboards, remotes and sensors, potentially reducing the need for disposable batteries. Backed by $78.5 million in funding, the company has launched mass production at its California factory and shipped its first batch to Lenovo. Unlike older solar tech, Ambient's cells work in low light and last longer than traditional batteries.

Retail Trends
Preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 have sold out quickly, causing website crashes and disruptions at major retailers such as Target, Best Buy and Walmart. Target's website crashed, although some buyers succeeded via the app, while Best Buy required account logins and delayed the preorder start, leading to mixed results. Walmart managed demand with a queue system, allowing many to complete purchases.
