The Wolftrap 5K is THIS WEEKEND!!! It is not too late to register! Over 600 people have already registered and will be out there wearing their capes and/or tutus! You may still register online or even come the morning of the race itself and sign up to participate! You do not want to miss this exciting event!
If you are coming to the race, be sure to buy your raffle tickets! These tickets will be used as currency at the race, and are your ONLY WAY to purchase items, including food, face painting, chances to win an entire cake, and of course, your change to win a raffle basket! Raffle tickets are available for pre-order through the end of the day TODAY!!!!!! After that, you may purchase tickets during bib pick-up on Friday in the school cafeteria (3:30-6:30) or at the event on Sunday. Both cash and credit cards will be accepted at ticket sales locations.
The 5K committee is in desperate need of volunteers to staff this massive event! Please click here to get involved! Donations for the cake walk are especially needed! Any types of cake are accepted, whether homemade or store-bought! Please sign up and drop off your item on Friday afternoon or early Sunday morning!
The Wolftrap PTA's Artist in the Making program will have its final project of the year in May. For grades K-5, the artist is Helen Frankenthaler, a 20th century American painter who experimented with color and invented new painting techniques. The training session for classroom volunteers will be held on May 8th from 8:45-9:45 a.m. in the Wolftrap cafeteria. Hope to see you there!

The fourth grade class would like to raise money for a piece of equipment, the sport overcomer, for the WES gym that would enable more inclusivity for all students. In order to do so, they will have a booth at the Wolftrap 5K packet pickup on Friday 4/25/2025 and at the race on Sunday 4/27/2025 to collect donations via cash and raffle tickets; to sell 3-D fidgets and sell helium balloons (for the kids to run with during the fun run). Your help along with your student's help is needed, for fidget donations and other donations, and for your time to spend at the booth so our class can make enough money to donate this equipment to the school. Thank you so much for being such an amazing Wolfie Community!
If you are able, please sign up to help bring their vision to life: 2025 4th grade parents and students: 4th Grade Fundraising Project
At our last PTA meeting, we voted to increase the PTA Board to five positions by adding a second Vice President. We have now opened nominations for three positions that will be open on July 1st for the 2025-26 school year:
Vice President #1
Vice President #2
Treasurer
Each position serves a 2-year term, so you must have 2 years remaining at Wolftrap.
General time commitment:
- Monthly meeting with Board members.
- Monthly meeting with Board and Administration.
- Attend PTA meetings.
- Other miscellaneous duties, including supporting committee chairs, coordinating fundraising efforts, and other ad hoc support as needed.
Interested? Please let us know which position you’re interested in. You can reach out to Laura Morrow on the Nominating Committee at mrslauramorrow@gmail.com, or any current board member. We are happy to answer any questions!
Are your kids looking for a way to volunteer and give back to the community? In Fairfax County, 34% of FCPS children qualify for free or reduced-price meals and experience food insecurity over the weekends and during school breaks. In partnership with the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation and Kids Give Back, your kids can help fight hunger by participating in
Tiny Feet, Big Impact: 1 Mile Fun Run to Fight Youth Hunger. April 26th 9:00-11:00 a.m. Open Door Presbyterian Church: 2999 Centreville Rd Herndon, VA 20171
This will be an excellent warm-up for the Wolftrap 5K. All runners are asked to donate food items to assemble Weekend Meal Packs for hundreds of food-insecure students at Herndon elementary schools to ensure these children have food over the weekends. More details and registration are found here.
