North Bay's new twin-pad rink is on time and on budget

North Bay’s new twin-pad arena remains on time and on budget.

Council will receive an update Tuesday on the construction of the $63-million project expected to be completed in August 2026.

To date, the project has incurred minimal extra costs due to site preparation ($8,194) with final measurements and invoicing for groundwork to be completed at the end of May.

North Bay Police looking for help to identify theft suspect

North Bay Police Service officers are seeking assistance to identify a male who stole equipment from a construction site in the McLaren Street area of North Bay on May 14th. 

North Bay's new arena will have space for food vendor

North Bay’s new twin pad arena will have space for a food vendor.

Food and drink services have been something rink users have been calling for years.

There are currently no food services in two of the city-owned arenas. The only food services available is at Memorial Gardens, however the service is open during North Bay Battalion games, special events and other activities.

Powassan passes a 5.5 per cent tax increase


Powassan’s property taxes are rising 5.5 per cent this year. The average residential tax bill within the municipality is $2,818, and this increase within the 2025 budget will add an additional $125 to the average tax bill.
