The class placement process is approached very carefully and thoroughly at Colin Powell ES and we consider the academic and social needs of each student. In order to provide the best environment for your child, we seek input from both staff and families. Please complete the Parent Input form for each of your children attending Powell next school year. This form will close on May 23, 2025. Thank you for your support in this process!
Dear Colin Powell families,
We are so excited for Field Day this year! Our date is set for Thursday, June 5th! (our rain date is Friday, June 6th). It will be a day of fun in the sun to bring this amazing school year to an end! Our field day will be split into two groups, grades 3-6 will be in the morning and grades K-2 will be in the afternoon.
This year's festivities include a few water activities, so we ask that each student wear a shirt and shorts that are appropriate for getting wet and bring a set of dry clothes and shoes. There are several stations that include running, jumping, etc. so students should also make sure they wear comfortable shoes/sneakers!
We encourage students to bring a water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses/hat, and a towel!

All volunteers for grades K-2 should be able to come to Powell Elementary school at 12:30pm and be able to stay until 3:15pm.

We are working to get our CPES Student Garden areas ready for the next phases. Do you have some extra shovels, pick-axes, kid garden gloves and any other garden tools to help us weed and clear out spaces? If you can lend your tools or donate tools, please bring them into the front office on Monday, 5/19! If you are lending them, please label the handles with your full name and tape and we will have a sheet in the office to put your contact info so we can return your items when we are done.
