Strings Spring Concert
 NFES Strings performed their Spring Concert this week. Ms. Ragusa's students showed off their hard work and did an amazing job!
Portrait of a Graduate Presentation of Learning
This year teachers and students have been engaged in the Portrait of a Graduate (POG) attribute “Goal-directed and Resilient Individual”. Throughout the year students identified, recognized and reflected on these skills schoolwide. Now, it is time to celebrate our Portrait of a Graduate growth in a Presentation of Learning (POL). The dates for these presentations are below for each grade level. Your teacher will provide more information as to what those presentations will entail.
Skills practiced:
Q1: “I treat others with kindness.”
Q2: I persevere through difficult tasks and I do not give up.”
Q3 & Q4: “I stay on task during work time and I am responsible during work time.”
Presentations of Learning Dates:
- K- June 3rd (Gallego & Sakell), 9:15 - 10:00 June 9th (Tsitos), Time TBD
- 1st -June 6th, Time TBD
- 2nd - June 5th, 12:00-1:00
- 3rd - June 5th, 9:30-10:30
- 4th -June 10th, 9:30-10:30
- 5th - June 9th, 9:30-10:30

Medication Pick Up
The Health Room is reminding parents/guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up by 1:30pm on Wednesday, June 11.
Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. If your student will attend a summer program sponsored by FCPS, the existing medication form(s) may be used for the summer program. Medication forms for next school year can be found online. For any questions, please contact the health room at 703-923-2610 or your public health nurse at asmadayag@fcps.edu.
Attendance on the Last Day of School
Please know that attendance will be taken on the last day of school, Wednesday, June 11, 2025. If your child is going to be absent on June 11, 2025, please call the Attendance line at 703-923-2626 or submit the absence through ParentVUE.

Phase 2 Community Boundary Review Meetings
 Families, staff, and community members can explore and visualize potential boundary scenarios using a customized Boundary Explorer Tool. The tool will be accessible from the FCPS website. You are also invited to participate in another series of community meetings in order to review and reflect on the initial draft scenarios before the start of summer break:
- Friday, May 16, 6:30-8 p.m., Robinson Secondary School
- Monday, May 19, 6:30-8 p.m., Herndon High School
- Friday, May 23, 7-8:30 p.m., Lewis High School
- Wednesday, May 28, 7-8:30 p.m., Annandale High School
- Thursday, May 29, 6:30-8 p.m., Whitman Middle School
- Friday, May 30, 6:30-8 p.m., Chantilly High School
- Friday, June 6, 6:30–8 p.m., Glasgow Middle School
Each meeting will be hybrid, meaning that you may attend in person or via Zoom. Childcare for in-person participants and language interpretation/translation for all participants will be available as needed. Registration links will be shared soon. Another round of community meetings will be held in the fall.
