[ALERT] CMS PECOS R7.53.3 Production Deployment - Application Availability, 06/07/2025

This message is for users of the PECOS PI and AI applications in the Production environment.

Please be advised that the CMS PECOS PI and AI applications in the Production (PROD) environment will not be available from 09:00 AM EDT to 12:00 PM EDT on Saturday, 06/07/2025 due to the R7.53.3 code deployment.

The following PECOS PI enhancements are included in this release:

PECOS will add a questionnaire to collect Acupuncture services for Individual physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and clinical nurse practitioners.
As part of this enhancement PECOS 1.0 will be migrated from SMTP email server to Leidos On-Prem SMTP Email Service. The emails sent from PECOS AI and PI will use the new Leidos On-Prem SMTP Email service starting from June 07, 2025.

The following PECOS AI enhancements are included in this release:

Update to Rules of Behavior to remove the requirement “Users will not be granted access to PECOS from a home location.”
PECOS will add a questionnaire to collect Acupuncture services for Individual physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and clinical nurse practitioners. This information will be available in the DataMart Ad Hoc reports.
As part of this enhancement PECOS 1.0 will be migrated from SMTP email server to Leidos On-Prem SMTP Email. The emails sent from PECOS AI and PI will use the new Leidos On-Prem SMTP Email service starting from June 07, 2025.

The following defect fixes are included in this release:

Fixed an issue in AI where the "Location is a" field did not display the selected PBD Site after reactivation for Physical Location.
Fixed an issue in PI where the values selected for Trustee of the SNF and ADP of the SNF were not retained in a COI workflow for individuals.
Fixed an issue where the Operational/Managerial Control role added for an existing individual did not display on a finalized enrollment.
Fixed an issue in AI where the "Location is a" dropdown did not show the updated PBD value after enrollment was finalized for Physical Location.
Fixed an issue in AI for SNF enrollments where a system error was displayed when a user selected any other role and clicked "Apply" in the edit flow for Individuals without TIN.
Fixed an issue where one of the columns was storing more than 9 digits in the database for 855A enrollments in PI.
Fixed an issue in AI where the Client SDK & REST API for 855A SNF and 855B forms displayed Address and Geocodes as Null in the database.
Fixed an issue where the SNF Administrator/Medical Director did not display on an approved MER.
Addressed critical vulnerable libraries found in PECOS during the 2024 CMS Security Testing.
