Congratulations to all of the seniors who graduated this week!
Hello Edison Families,
What an incredible week it’s been as we celebrated the Class of 2025! A heartfelt thank you to Kathleen Racek and Cait Saxton for their tremendous work in planning and executing a beautiful and memorable graduation ceremony. Your attention to detail and care for our students was evident in every part of the event.
We’re also so grateful to our amazing staff and the FCPS leadership team who attended and supported the ceremony. Your presence meant a lot to our graduates and their families.
To the Class of 2025, congratulations! We are so proud of you. While we’ll miss your presence at Edison, we know you’re heading off to do great things, and we can’t wait to hear about your future successes.
A huge shout out goes to our PTSA and the All Night Grad Party Committee for putting on an outstanding celebration. Our graduates laughed, got hypnotized, swam, played cards, and ate their way through a night full of fun. It was a fantastic way to close out their Edison experience, and it wouldn’t have been possible without our dedicated parent volunteers. Thank you for creating such a joyful send-off.
On Thursday, we also had the chance to celebrate our rising seniors in the Global STEM Challenges Program. These students have completed their STEM courses at Edison and have done impressive work exploring innovative solutions for environmental stewardship. They’ll receive STEM cords to wear at next year’s graduation, and we’re very proud of all they’ve accomplished.
Underclassmen began final exams and culminating activities on Thursday, and these will continue through Tuesday. As a reminder, the last day of school is Wednesday, June 11. Students will be dismissed at 10:10 a.m. and will spend their time on campus in the cafeteria connecting with their teachers. During these final days, students are expected to be in class and not wandering the hallways. Let’s finish strong and make the most of these last moments together.
Registration for our Jump Start program for rising 9th graders is now open. Parents can use the link included in this message to sign up and help ease their student’s transition to high school.
It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the end of the school year, it has gone by so quickly. We’ll be sending out one final Friday message next week with everything you need to know about our summer hours.
Have a great weekend!
Amanda Burke
The last day of school is Wednesday, June 11! Please see some important reminders below:
- Remind your child to return all school library books and FCPS laptops.
- Check your child’s MySchoolBucks account and pay any balances.
- Pick up any medications your child has been taking at school. A parent/guardian must pick them up in person.
- Bookmark the 2025-26 school year calendar to be ready for next year.
Please contact our front office with any questions.
All medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school- June 11th at 10:10am.
Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. However, with parent or guardian permission, a high school student may transport over-the-counter medications to and from the school health room. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).
If you have any questions, please contact your school health room aide, at (703) 924- 8010, or your school public health nurse, Kelly Clancy, at kclancy@fcps.edu
Thank you for your cooperation and have a good summer.
