- Remind your child to return all school library books and FCPS laptops.
- Check your child’s MySchoolBucks account and pay any balances.
- Pick up any medications your child has been taking at school. A parent/guardian must pick them up in person. See below for more information.

Summer Office Hours
Please note that Holmes Middle School’s summer office hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
We will resume regular office hours starting Monday, August 11th.
The first day of the 2025–2026 school year is Monday, August 18th.
Required Immunizations for Rising 7th Graders
All students entering 7th grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations before the beginning of school: Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis booster (Tdap), Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
-
- To meet the Tdap requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age seven or older.
- To meet the MenACWY requirement, the vaccination must be administered at age 10 or older.
- As a parent/guardian, you may decide not to have your child receive the HPV
Please consider getting your child’s immunizations early so that they can attend school in the fall. Summer is a busy time for families and health care providers. As long as your child meets the age requirements listed above, they can be immunized at any time.
Local immunization clinics and additional resources are available on the FCPS Immunization Resources webpage and from the Fairfax County Health Department.
Let’s finish the year strong!

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school - 12:15PM on 6/11. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s). If you have any questions reach out to the Public Health Nurse, Nohelia Yanes at 703-658-5918.
Yearbooks are now available for $30. Stop by the main office - cash or check only.
Our Hawks will be participating in Field Day, a day of indoor and outdoor games to celebrate our successes and close out the year. All students are participating in grade-level activities. We are also reminding students daily about the importance to continue being kind to one another through the end of the year. Students have been informed that discipline incidents can lead to the privilege of participating in our Field Day to be taken away. If a student has a full day suspension, either in or out of school, or has excessive tardies, they will not be allowed to participate in Holmes Field Day 2025.
