Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador, has been returned to the United States to face human smuggling charges. Abrego Garcia has been named in an indictment charging him with transporting within the U.S. people not legally in the country.

A federal judge and the U.S. Supreme Court had ordered his return, but the administration has resisted, accusing him of being a member of the MS-13 gang to justify his deportation.
