On the last day of school, Wednesday, June 11, school will be dismissed at 1:20 p.m.

The Lost and Found will be donated before the last day of school - if you are missing items, please stop in this week to gather them!  Any item left on the playground is brought into the school's lost and found. So, if someone in the community comes to the fields for extracurricular activities, please let them know to check in with the office to see our lost and found items.

Eid al-Adha

Eid al-Adha: Evening-Only Observance Day begins at sundown on Friday, June 6.

This day is an evening-only observance day. There is school on these days, but certain activities that cannot be made up can not take place after school. See the complete school year calendar. Throughout the year, as we celebrate and recognize various cultural holidays and observances, families are encouraged to contact their student’s principal regarding accommodations, including but not limited to those around lunch, prayer/meditation and silent reflection spaces and times, and instruction.

LGBTQIA+ Pride Month

In the month of June, we recognize the resilience and determination of the many individuals who are fighting to live freely and authentically. We stand with those facing an ongoing struggle against discrimination and injustice. This Pride Month, we reaffirm and uphold the dignity of LGBTQIA+ people. Each individual in our school community should feel valued for who they are. Visit our LGBTQIA+ Student Resources and Supports webpage. Caribbean American Heritage Month

Caribbean American Heritage Month

FCPS celebrates the rich diversity and honors the many contributions of immigrants of Caribbean heritage to our nation during the month of June. Caribbean individuals are some of the most ethnically diverse in the world. There are more than 8.5 million individuals in the United States born in the Caribbean or of Caribbean ancestry. Class Placement: Parent/Guardian Input (optional) due Friday, June 6

This spring, Hayfield ES Staff will begin creating tentative class groupings for the 2025-2026 school year. Classroom assignments will be finalized in mid-August.

When making these placements, we carefully consider many factors, including:

  • Individual student information
  • Teacher input
  • Social relationships
  • A blend of children with diverse needs, personalities, and learning interests in every class.

Due to the numerous factors involved in creating balanced classroom placements, including teacher staffing, we are unable to honor requests for specific teachers.

If you have information you believe is important for us to consider regarding your child’s placement for next year, please complete this form by Friday, June 6.

If you do not have any specific information you would like us to consider, there is no need to complete the form.

2025 Athletic Physical Registration

*The Virginia General Assembly has changed its policy for athletic physicals. Beginning July 1, 2025, physicals will be valid for 14 months from the date they are signed by a healthcare professional, not from May 1 to June 30 as before. This change applies to all VHSL member schools in Virginia.

The VHSL physical form is also required to participate in middle school sports. https://www.vhsl.org/vhsl-physical-form/
