Later today, in the last in our anniversary Substack Live series, we will welcome Dr. Ruth Ben-Ghiat, and this is one you don’t want to miss. Ruth is a New York University professor and scholar focusing on fascism, authoritarianism, propaganda, and democracy protection who wrote THE book on authoritarianism, Strongmen: Mussolini to the Present. Ruth joined us for a “Five Questions With” focused on Project 2025 in May of last year, and I’m so glad to have her back. If you read that “Five Questions” or her book, published in 2020, you understand that she foresaw what was coming in Trump 2.0. We are fortunate to have her join us to discuss where we are, what’s coming next, and how we can best respond.
