What might initially catch the eye in the new Apple TV+ series Chief of War is a nearly naked Jason Momoa fighting a shark with his bare hands. But there's more to the show than that. Read more about his experience filming Chief of War (premiering August 1) in his interview with film critic Barry Hertz.

Also this week: Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson fit perfectly in the remake of the 1988 police procedural parody, The Naked Gun, convincingly inhabiting the franchise's noir vibes and booting the idea that reboots suck and studio comedy is dead, writes Radheyan Simonpillai.
