The first major hurricane of the 2025 season has been upgraded to a Category 4 storm as it moves north through the Caribbean.

Hurricane Erin is not currently forecast to hit land, but strong winds are impacting nearby islands and it's expected to generate large waves that will spread to the East Coast, the Bahamas and Bermuda, according to the National Hurricane Center.
