The Weekender: A cozy yet luxe basement, Carrie Bradshaw’s legacy and a focus fix
Plus, 21 people told us how they use A.I. at work.

I met a psychologist at a party recently who told me that she has to document what she’s done with A.I. each week at work and it’s really stressing her out. Her concern, she said, is not necessarily philosophical or ethical; it’s that she can’t think of ways to use A.I. in the first place. That’s why I loved an article that my colleagues at The Upshot, the department at The Times focused on data and analytical journalism, published this week. They asked 21 people in a variety of careers — think: a curator at a botanical garden and a medical imaging scientist — how they use A.I. at work. Their answers were illuminating.

If you’d prefer to focus on analog pleasures over the weekend, this edition also includes the reason getting out into nature is good for your brain, one secret ingredient that makes homemade ice cream easy and 10 books filled with sumptuous drama to tide fans of “The Gilded Age” over until next season. — Farah Miller
