Host, All Things Considered and Consider This
Federal funding for public media has been all but eliminated. But, all of us at NPR — and at Member Stations across the country — continue to get up every day, come into work and report the news. We're committed to the mission of helping you understand what's going on in your world.
Losing federal funding doesn't stop that. But it certainly makes it harder to pull off.
Right now, because resources are suddenly scarce, the NPR Network is facing choices we didn't have to make in the past. Some newsrooms are at risk of closing entirely, which will leave people in the dark about what’s happening in their local community, from the school board to the state capitol.
I'm proud to have spent my entire career in public media. From my very first job as a local All Things Considered host, to my years covering the government at every level, to my current job as one of NPR's All Things Considered hosts, I've spent my adult life working in this remarkable system where we rely on the support of our audience to go out and report the news. I know how important both local and national journalism are, and what we lose when we can't trust the facts in front of us.
We need your help to keep this public resource strong, not just for you, but for all. Without your help, stories will go untold and voices will go unheard.
Make a donation today to support the NPR Network as we forge a future without federal funding.
