Viking Lands ‘NYT’ Reporter’s Debut
Allison Lorentzen at Viking took North American rights, at auction, to Sons of God: Young Men and the Search for Meaning in a New Christian America by Ruth Graham from Jessica Spitz at Janklow & Nesbit. The New York Times reporter’s debut investigates “the seismic shift in the American religious landscape as young men flock to the pews” and “how this evolving movement—which is often intertwined with resurgent strains of social conservatism—will shape the political and spiritual future of the country.” Pub date TBA.
Cardinal to Publish New Novel by Min Jin Lee
Ben Sevier at Grand Central Publishing landed North American and audio rights to American Hagwon by Min Jin Lee from Peter Straus at RCW. The novel will be published by GCP imprint Cardinal, with Cardinal publisher Reagan Arthur to edit. Release is set for September 29.
Morrow Scores Kelce Brothers’ ‘No Dumb Questions’
Mauro DiPreta at William Morrow took world rights to the debut book by NFL sibling duo Jason and Travis Kelce from Wondery. The book draws on the Super Bowl champions and New Heights podcast hosts’ football knowledge and shared childhood, as well as a “slew of famous guests,” to give “spirited answers to their fans’ most burning questions,” per the publisher. Release is set for June 2026.

Among this week’s nonfiction-heavy offerings are Phoebe Robinson’s Rich Auntie, an essay collection that sees the actor and comedian riff on topics including dating, work, and female friendships; Pulitzer winner Paul Pringle’s Blood Sun Rising, a deeply reported chronicle of the LAPD’s efforts to stem violence, corruption, and crime at the turn of the millennium; and The Secret Inquisition: Mussolini, the Vatican, and the Untold Story of Fascist Italy’s War on the Jews by David Kertzer, a history of Italy’s 1938 racial laws.

New projects this week include When Songbirds Bleed by Emma Jackson, in which a group of privileged teens take a secret excursion in a private plane and endure a devastating crash—and their only hope for rescue lies in a wilderness cult that doesn’t intend for them to leave; Cerulean by Sajni Patel, a feminist YA reimagining of The Little Mermaid meets Pirates of the Caribbean, about a fierce Atlantean princess’s high-stakes adventure alongside a ghostly pirate, to seek retribution against men who prey on sirens for their powers; and Grace at the End of the World by Christian Trimmer, a road-trip story set during a zombie apocalypse, in which 19-year-old Grace, overcome with grief after the death of her last living relative, makes a rash decision: to go in search of her celebrity crush.
