A new Lao oral history collection of veteran interviews is now online. A companion panel event featuring Lao and American veterans is also available. Veterans from the Secret War in Laos recall their experiences during the Vietnam War (Second Indochina War). Lao Special Guerrilla Unit/Royal Lao Army soldiers fought along the Ho Chi Minh Trail, which transited Laos and made it a key battlefield in the conflict. These soldiers were supported by U.S. CIA case officers and U.S. Army Special Forces. This collection allows one to hear directly from participants of this little-known story of the Vietnam War.
