Bishop Gorman’s longstanding dominance in Nevada high school football has reached a breaking point, and Clark County School District programs have taken unprecedented measures to avoid playing the Gaels.
According to the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association, CCSD principals informed the NIAA that district schools aligned in Class 5A and 4A will play as independents for the next two school years beginning this fall. The step makes all district football teams ineligible for recognized Class 5A and 4A state titles.
