Sifting through the wreckage of the worst game of Garrett Crochet’s career, the Red Sox may have found something. Or they may not have.
“That’s between me and Garrett,” pitching coach Andrew Bailey said.
Are the Red Sox confident that Crochet will pitch like his usual excellent self when he next takes the mound, Sunday against the Tigers?
“He’s one of the greatest pitchers in baseball,” Bailey said. “The greatest pitchers in baseball have tough days, and that’s OK. I think we have to recognize, too, that these guys are human, and sometimes baseball is baseball. It’s a tough little go. So I’m not worried about it."
