Incumbent State Senators Dan Dernulc and Rick Niemeyer appear headed for defeat after Tuesday’s Republican primary.

Indiana voters decided their party’s nominees for races at the federal and state levels, as well as in a few local races, during the Indiana primary election.

U.S. Rep. Frank Mrvan was leading in the Democratic primary and Porter County Board of Commissioners Barb Regnitz was leading in the Republican primary Tuesday for U.S. Representative in Indiana’s First District.

Porter County GOP Chairman Nate Uldricks will face Democratic incumbent Rodney Pol Jr. this November in the Indiana Senate District 4 race.

Andrew Bennett, a former Porter County deputy prosecutor, will face Democrat incumbent Gary Germann on the November ballot for prosecutor.

Porter County Councilman Greg Simms lagged behind Jack Tipold in the race for the Democratic spot on the November ballot for District 3.

Porter County District 4 Councilman Andy Vasquez was behind Porter County Plan Commission member Craig Kenworthy in Tuesday night’s primary.

With an early total of 35% of the vote, Gary Common Councilman Darren Washington led the Lake County Council District 2 primary Tuesday night.
