Hey I finally got around to trying that new hiking trail you mentioned last month. Honestly it was tougher than I expected but the view at the top was worth every step. I ended up taking the longer loop by accident and added about two miles to my hike but it was fine because the weather was perfect. I saw a couple of deer about halfway up which was really cool. Next time I'll bring more water though because I completely ran out with a mile to go. Let me know if you want to join for a weekend hike sometime soon. I'm thinking of trying the ridge trail next since I heard the foliage is supposed to be incredible this time of year. My cousin came along and brought his camera so we got some great shots. The trail markers could be better though — almost missed a turn near the creek. Anyway just wanted to share how it went. Hope you're doing well and we can plan something soon.

I've been meaning to tell you about this podcast I started listening to. It covers all sorts of random topics from ancient history to modern technology and the host has a really engaging style that makes complex stuff easy to follow. I listened to an episode last week about the history of mapmaking and it was fascinating how inaccurate early maps were and how explorers just accepted them. The episode after that was about urban gardening and how cities are using green spaces to reduce heat. My commute has been a lot more enjoyable with something interesting to listen to. fIgwv2H0ALvbvBh Let me know if you want any recommendations for specific episodes. I've got a whole list saved up. Also we should catch up properly soon — it feels like it's been ages since we actually talked. I've also started experimenting with some new recipes at home and actually managed to make a decent pasta dish from scratch which I never thought I'd be able to do. Anyway that's all for now. Talk soon.
