Lake Erie Harmful Algal Bloom Bulletin

This is a reminder to check the Lake Erie HAB Forecast, linked above.

Clouds and smoke have obscured satellite imagery over the past week. As of 25 July 2026, cyanobacteria are present along the coast from Monroe, MI to Port Clinton, OH with higher concentrations in Maumee Bay.

This bulletin provides a summary and forecast of the Microcystis harmful algal blooms (HABs) in western Lake Erie. Updates will be e-mailed to subscribers with important information regarding bloom status and significant features.
