| | | | | Good morning, Chicago. Caleb Williams is ready to move. After the first practice of training camp, the Bears quarterback said he lost 10 to 15 pounds over the offseason. The goal is to be more agile both inside the pocket and when he breaks loose. Since entering the NFL as the No. 1 draft pick in 2024, Williams always has been a thicker quarterback. The team currently lists him at 6-foot-1 and 226 pounds, but teams don’t update those figures on their official rosters very often. Williams also was listed at 226 pounds last season. As a rookie in 2024, the Bears listed him at 215. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams points to the sideline as he prepares to run a play during training camp at Halas Hall on July 29, 2026,

factor. “Eating at certain times,” Williams said. “Going to bed and not eating after 7. Just eating consistently, eating well.” Today’s eNewspaper edition | Subscribe to more newsletters | Asking Eric | Horoscopes | Puzzles & Games | Today in History | | | | The Chicago White Sox could be targeting catchers and both starting pitchers and relievers as the Monday MLB trade deadline approaches. | | | | | In the Chicago Cubs’ game July 20 at Wrigley Field, Pete Crow-Armstrong passed Kevin Kiermaier for the most 5-star catches in the Statcast era. | | | | | Edgar Quero’s walk-off single in the 12th inning lifted the Chicago White Sox to a 6-5 victory on Wednesday.
