Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) Prospective Payment system (PPS) and Updates to the Quality Reporting Program (QRP) for FY 2027 (CMS-1845-F)

On July 30, 2026, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a final rule (CMS-1845-F) that provides updates to the fiscal years (FYs) 2027 and 2029 Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Quality Reporting Program (IRF QRP). CMS is finalizing a revision to the IRF QRP Data Submission Deadlines, beginning with the FY 2029 IRF QRP. CMS also summarized public comments on one Request for Information (RFI) on future measure concepts for the IRF QRP.
