iza,
I was shooting content in public with my assistant.

We were politely but obviously taking up space as my assistant directed me from one shot to the next.
“Move your croissant.”
“Sip your coffee.”
In the corner, a businessman watched me.
His projected energy was mostly skeptical but a little curious.
“Are you an influencer?” he asked.
I immediately felt defensive.
“Unfortunately yes…but I DO make good money.”
Unfortunately?!
Why did I say that? Why did I put myself down?
Because his energy about me was weird.
So I shrank.
Most of the time, I’m exactly the same in-person as I am online.
Confident.
High-energy.
Myself.
But I’m sharing this to let you know that even after 13 years…I still have my moments where I fall short.
Where I forget all the work I’ve done to show up and shine my light.
Sometimes, I feel weird about what I do for a living.
Especially in more “traditional” environments, like speaking to an older gentleman in a suit.
And it’s ok.
I can be gentle with myself.
And I can also remember that:
If I have to experience a few self-imposed uncomfortable moments here and there in order to experience a personal income of millions, I’ll take that trade any day. ✨
What did you think, iza?
Should I share more vulnerable, honest moments like this? Reply back and let me know!
Warmly,
Maria
