VASNHS is proud to share the story of Korean War Veteran, Dr. Irwin Berman, told in his own words. When I look back, I see a journey that began in a small farming town and expanded across oceans and continents. Hard work, education, family, and responsibility guided me. My parents wanted more for their children than they had. In many ways, that desire shaped everything.

International Overdose Awareness Day
As communities across the country observe International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31, VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS) is highlighting its ongoing efforts to prevent overdose deaths among the Veterans it serves throughout the region.

Veterans Town Hall, Resource Fair scheduled for Sept. 19
VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System, in partnership with the Veterans Benefits Administration’s Reno Regional Office and Nevada Department of Veterans Services, will host a quarterly Veterans Town Hall and Resource Fair at the North Las Vegas VA Medical Center from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and a moderated Town Hall from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept 19.

Air Force Thunderbirds honor Veterans during VA medical center visit
Members of the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron "Thunderbirds" recently spent time meeting with local hospitalized Veterans during a visit to the North Las Vegas VA Medical Center.
