Rivian drives in with refreshed R1S, R1T lineup

Rivian has updated its R1S and R1T models for 2027, introducing optional second-row captain's chairs in the R1S to address a long-standing customer request. The refresh also simplifies the trim structure, while the new captain's chairs feature heating and fold completely flat.

Ford Motor is using AI to enhance engine reliability by identifying microscopic defects before vehicles hit the road. The automaker aims for engines to last at least 225,000 miles by subjecting powertrains to rigorous testing and analyzing engine oil for trace materials. "This hybrid approach of old-school mechanical abuse and cutting-edge software analysis proves that human pride still drives the industry," writes Leroy Marion.

Kobalt signed a licensing agreement with Spotify for an AI-powered remix tool, following similar agreements with Universal Music Group and Merlin. The tool, available as a paid add-on for premium users, allows fans to create AI-generated covers and remixes.
