Parenting Education on County Conversation Podcast
Parenting Education Classes
On the latest "The County Conversation" podcast, Marcus Garr, the supervisor of our Parenting Education Programs, discussed parenting education and why it matters. Garr highlighted the range of free virtual and in-person classes Family Services offers. Classes teach positive and effective ways parents can interact with their children at every age and stage of development.

The Parenting Education Programs
This fall, a variety of virtual and in-person classes will be offered in English and Spanish. An in-person class for parents of 5–11-year-olds begins Sept. 3, 2026, 5:30–8 p.m. in Springfield. Dinner and childcare are provided! Fairfax County staff can click here to submit a family enrollment form. Others can email us for more information or check our website for updates.

Dads Parenting Groups
Dads, check out our upcoming groups to help you improve parenting skills and build better relationships! Fairfax County residents or dads with children living in Fairfax are welcome. Language interpretation services are available. The next sessions begin Tuesday, September 8. Learn more, enroll online, or call 703-324-7720.

Tuesday, Sept. 8 – Free Virtual Parent Café: Body Safety
Did you know our Body Safety Program teaches children age-appropriate skills to recognize unsafe situations, set boundaries, and seek help from trusted adults? Join this discussion to gain practical tools for talking with your children about body safety and helping them feel comfortable bringing up this sensitive topic. Any Fairfax County parents or guardians with children ages 0-18 years old can join us. Register online!
